摘要： 长期以来,编纂一套中国科学技术史丛书是中国科技史学者共同的心愿。科学出版社出版的《中国科学技术史》丛书于1987年酝酿,后被列为中国科学院“八五”计划重点项目,截至2011年,共出版了26卷。这套书由中国科学院自然科学史研究所主持,团结全国科技史研究力量,凝聚一百多位学者之心血共同撰写,是中国学界60多年来完成的一部系统的中国古代科学技术史巨著。

Abstract: The compilation of a book series on the history of science and technology in pre-modern China had long been a shared aspiration for Chinese historians of science and technology. The book series Zhongguo kexue jishu shi (History of Science and Technology in Pre-Modern China), which had been proposed in 1987 and was later published by Science Press, was listed as a key project during the“Eighth Five-Year Plan” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). As of 2011, a total of 26 volumes had been published. The compilation of this book series was hosted by the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, CAS, which gathered nationwide experts in the history of science and technology for the project. The series was co-authored by over 100 scholars, resulting in a systematic magnum opus on the history of science and technology in pre-modern China completed by the Chinese academic community of the past 60 years.
